Our Leaders

Kellen is the pastor of Riverside Church on Madison’s isthmus—the small, imperfect family of English-, Lao-, and Mandarin-speaking believers gathering at 301 Riverside Drive in Madison.

 

He is a lover of God, redeemed by Jesus’ blood, and happiest when he is pointing people to the resurrection of Jesus. Around here that looks like preaching the Scriptures, answering hard questions over coffee, and helping a historic church (since 1906) keep making Christ known to people who are hopeless without Him.

 

Before Riverside, Kellen served as a chaplain, taught Christian history at a Bible institute, and pastored churches in Wisconsin and Maine. He still can’t help digging into the Bible in the original languages—Hebrew and Greek included—and he is super handy when something around the building (or a life) needs fixing.

 

At home he is dad to five children and he enjoys working out with his F3 group, watching the Packers, swimming, hiking, playing basketball, and going on adventures.
